I just bought myself an ASUS zenbook 14 OLED UX3405 and honestly expected a better experience than my old pc that had a weaker CPU (Ryzen 5500) but no, I was wrong. Took the laptop out of the box, plugged it in, removed mcAfee, one drive and every unnecessary application from the laptop and it felt very... sluggish. 120hz OLED felt nothing like 120hz on battery even after ensuring it was at 120hz. animations were laggy and it did not feel like a 1500 dollar laptop at all.
a week goes by and I decide to try out Ubuntu and god that runs heaps better on a LIVE bootable USB 2.0 stick than a paid os that's on the ssd and not to mention the issue i had with the laggy screen and animations on windows is non-existent on ubuntu. runs like a dream. How is this even possible? it's mind boggling how shitty windows feels compared to an open source, free OS.
