Hey all,

I’m looking for some honest feedback on a recent roof installation. It was completed over two days. On the first day, a supervisor was on site and things seemed to go smoothly. He was actively getting on the roof, pointing out issues, and having the crew correct them as they went. On the second day, which was a Saturday, there was no supervisor present and it was just the crew working. Another supervisor was supposed to come out for a final walkthrough but never showed up. The crew finished around 8:20 p.m., so I only had a few minutes of daylight to take a look, and I wasn’t very impressed with what I saw.

Some parts of the roof don’t look right to me, especially compared to the previous roof, which laid much flatter. I understand this may be a different type of shingle, but there are noticeable inconsistencies, including uneven lines along the edges, diagonal placements, and sections that appear to be about one inch. The company has acknowledged that certain areas don’t look good, but they’ve said that about 95 percent of the roof is fine overall. To their credit, they’ve agreed to fix the areas I’ve pointed out in the photos and additional areas they have concerns about.

One of the more concerning sections is around my kitchen window, where the spacing looks particularly inconsistent. The company has already agreed to fully redo that portion, which I appreciate. Still, I want to make sure the roof is installed correctly and won’t lead to problems down the line.

The company has solid reviews, with around 200 reviews and a 4.9 rating, so this outcome was unexpected. I’m trying to figure out whether I’m overreacting or if these concerns are valid. Are there specific things I should be calling out when they come back to address the issues next week?

I appreciate any insight you can offer.
