Reposting this from the Daily LA thread:
Hi friends! Relatively established transplant since 2014 here. I originally lived in around Franklin and Gower, getting a real quick lesson on street parking in Hollywood! I have since moved out of the city proper into Ventura County. I recently got in an argument with someone who grew up out here when they mentioned “they always find street parking around the Palladium” when attending shows.
When I pushed on this, saying I have never been able to accomplish this heroic feat during the 7 x times I have been there or the 3 x times I have worked there as a PM, and was told:
“Well you don’t know because only real Angelenos know where to park. My friends would laugh at you, you never pay for parking in Hollywood. You’re a transplant and don’t get it.”
• I’m not asking to give up sacred generational knowledge here, but is this true? Are there hidden alleys and Looney Tunes style false walls around there I will never know about? Like I’m aware of the concept of parking several blocks away and hoofing it, but this was presented differently.(For other context: the person who told me the parking thing is in their early 20’s and grew up in a different county, coming into the city often)
Thanks fwends!
