Loathe Introduces The New Electromatic Baritone CVT & Jet | Gretsch Guitars

This really turned my head, I'd already been considering the previous Jet Baritone but this looks like a good revision, decent price too (both sub-£600 at Andertons from a quick look for those in the UK)

Slightly disappointed that the CVT is 27" since I already have/built a guitar at that scale, although I think it says the LP style body of the Jet is contoured, didn't get a good look.

Dunno how Erik has them tuned, I know he often plays EAEADF# if I remember right but the supplied strings probably won't go that low. I know you shouldn't expect to sound like Loathe just from pulling it from the box but they should probably be clear about that.

Weird issue with Wampler Velvet Fuzz

I've been loving this velvet fuzz pedal but recently it seems to have developed an issue. When I plug in the power supply with the pedal active it power up fine, but if I toggle the pedal off and try to turn it on again, the light flashes 4 times and it stays off. If I pull out the power cable and plug it back in, I can turn it on, but if I toggle it again it won't come back on.

Using a different connector from the supply, including from other pedals or even removing all the others doesn't seem to change anything. No issues with the other pedals, but always with this one.

I still have the crappy cheap supply I used to use before making a proper board, just 5 connectors plugging into the mains, and the Velvet works perfectly with that. So it's a stop gap solution but I want it working off what I use for the rest of the board.

So in summary it seems to have developed an issue with my power supply which it used to be fibre with, although when tested separately from one another neither shows an issue. Anyone got ideas?

I had a Squier Bass VI for a while, I did it and currently use a partscaster but I do think about getting a new BVI or counterpart. Vintera III looks good, I would like to try a mute, and I'm very curious about the Ibanez SRC6 (probably won't find a base version now but I'm coming around to trying a multi scale) plus I may keep modding my partscaster or do a new one, so id like to see what folks think about the OG design.

I think I have three main issues. Least substantial is the shape of the pickguard, I would prefer if it went up the horn toward the strap button like on Jaguars. Just aesthetics.

The other two are kind of linked, the bridge and trem. Maybe Fenders are better but I had a bunch of problems getting the Squier one to sit right and hold intonation. I love offsets but I'm coming to think it's my last favourite kind of bridge. And then there's the trem, which I rarely see used and adds at least 3" of length to the guitar to accommodate it. Do folks think it's worth it, or even like the size of the BVI? Or would you prefer a trem-less one with something like a standard Jaguar bass body with the bridge near the base?

My baritone partscaster here needed me to put a shim in upside down in order to get playable action (there's also some tin foil in there, was an experiment and I don't think it's helping, but I've also no need to get it out of there) but I have to raise the bridge stupid high, I actually needed to put ball bearings into the cups it sits in, not ideal at all.

I think I have to sand the heel of the neck down so the height and angle are better, but I'd be using hand tools at home so it would be hard to be precise and risks mucking it up. That said, besides full replacement I can't think of another way to get both angle and height right.

So I guess I'm seeking either alternatives or guidance on how to do this right.
