Hey all,

Bought this truck ages ago and ran it a few times and it's just been sitting for the last few years. Recently made it a point to take it out and use it. I charged the batteries (4200mah venom nimh, iirc) and 1 wouldn't charge and the other one didn't run for very long. It also looked like they were underwater, so after a bit of reading I have some new lipo batteries w/ a new charger.

After turning LVD mode on, I took it out with the kids earlier today and everything seemed to go swimmingly. Forgot how fast this truck is, even at 50% mode. However, it seems like the shocks may be gone as the rear sits way lower than the front and requires very little force to have it squat down the rest of the way, as well. Any decent amount of the throttle will make it lose control fairly easily.

So, I ordered new shocks...and after some reading, ordered 40wt shock oil. I always thought it was weird the gears were open...but apparently there is supposed to be a cover there. So I've ordered one of those.

Looking at it more, the ESC is ziptied down. Which does not inspire confidence. I know the previous owner told me this started as a brushed motor truck before upgrading to the VXL and ESC. Is there a better way to mount it?

Also, just seems to have an overall sheen of....tired. A lot of the bolts/screws have at minimum surface rust on them, but I'd imagine that shouldn't hurt too much, unless there are some I should remove and replace right now before they get further rusted and I strip out or something.

ISO Ship in a Bottle set, the original or re-issue makes no difference to me. i'm looking to build this, so NISB is not a selling point. I would prefer instructions to be included, but no box is needed.

It looks like the most recent listing on this sub sold for 40+shipping ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Legomarket/comments/1r1mcpl/usmn_h_complete_sets_ideas_creator_expert_w/) so looking to start around there.

I don't have a whole lot of swaps on this sub, but I do have a decent amount over on /r/hardwareswap
