Oil filter relocation bracket
I am gathering parts for a +t on my 1989 m47 245. I pulled the water/oil cooler off of a 92 740t. I want to use the relocation bracket with my thermostatic sandwich plate bolted to the end.
The probkem is I need the bolt that holds the sandwich plate to the filter relocater. The bolt that comes with the water to oil cooler is designed for use with the much thicker sandwich plate that coolant flows through. Does anyone know
if this has been done before? I couldn’t find any information out there on it already
if you can purchase the air/oil cooler bolt anywhere?
my first thought was to have a machine shop shorten the existing bolt to the point where it will fit my application. Does this seem like a bad idea?
