Hi, the two schools I'm considering the most are the University of Pennsylvania and Washington University at St Louis. They're both great schools but have their pros and cons and I keep going back and forth
Wustl:
Pros
- Culture seems more collaborative
- Campus is probably my favorite that I've seen
Cons
- Great school but not as well known as some others
- St. Louis seems car dependent and I worry I would get bored there
Penn:
Pros
- Very well known
- Stronger alumni network
- Location: lots to do in Philly and can easily go to NYC or DC
Cons
- Very pre-professional (not really what I'm going for)
- Some have described the culture as more competitive than collaborative
- I find it odd that you have to apply to some clubs but I know they're not all like that
- not a fan of the campus
For background, I'm going in undecided and interested in trying a variety of things. However, I'm not really into business or medicine or law. I also like art and creative stuff but it seems like both schools have art clubs. I feel like I could do well at both schools but I need some advice if anyone has any thoughts.
