When should I go to the ER? High Pain Tolerance

I am not asking for medical advice, I am just trying to stay alive for my GI Specialist appointment in July!

Let’s just say, long story short…I have had bouts of intense severe pain right in the middle of sternum beginning August 2024. Mostly infrequent until the last year, now at a point where it’s an issue daily.

Have been to the ER 3 times now, 2 CT Scans with contrast (normal aside for fecal matter showing constipation), diagnosed with rapid gastric emptying, GERD, Hypertrophic gastritis, am on omeprazole 40mg daily, and if a dose is missed, I end up in the er in severe pain.

No real specific foods or anything that causes the pain, there is no bowel movement issues during these “episodes”, just pain. Pain when I breathe, pain when I laydown, pain when I’m sitting up, pain when I’m curled in the fetal position, extreme pain when stretched out.

I recently found out from an MRI that I have also herniated a disc in my neck…from having to stay so hunched all the time from pain for the past 2 years.

Now I’m sitting here, 3rd day with no pain relief no matter what I take, can’t eat or drink anything without the pain skyrocketing to agony, but I have to or I’ll pass out from no nutrients. Can only sleep if I double up on muscle relaxers, and even then, only for an hour or 2.

I have lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks without trying, and I have lost 25-30 pounds since this started almost 2 years ago.

Can anyone help tell me what is causing all of this and what I can safely ingest to keep up my nutrients enough to at least function? Seeing a GI specialist at IU, that I was referred to by my current gastroenterologist, but not until July…and I honestly to god don’t think I will be able to survive until then.

Any and all comments and questions welcome!! I just got engaged and I want to be able to stand upright for my entire wedding and not feel like I have chucky dolls trying to cut their way out of me through my abdomen 🙃

Timeline to go to ER

I am not asking for medical advice, I am asking for people’s opinions on what they think is a good course of action while waiting for GI Appointment in July🥺
