iPhone making notification sounds on silent mode (currently running iOS 26.4.2)

So for a while now my iPhone will occasionally make notification sounds while in silent mode. It’s especially frustrating in places where I’m supposed to be silent. For example it just happened in the library at the study tables that literally have signs about staying quiet. It’s embarrassing and frustrating.

Please tell me someone has found a fix for this.

All the Google results are saying it’s not possible but I’m crossing my fingers and hoping it is. With my old AirPods I could tap them with my wrist to stop an alarm when I’m doing dishes (which happens often for me). I’ve got gen 4’s now and I can’t do this. I can’t squeeze the AirPod or touch my phone because it will get covered in soap and grim. The result is my neighbours (through thin walls) have to listen to my alarm go on and on while finish scrubbing a pot.

I figured there would be an announce alarms Siri feature that could do it like answering calls but no luck.

Please help
