used GNOME for about a year, and every time I tried KDE before, I’d switch back within a day. it always felt a bit messy and over the top.

but this time I gave it a proper shot , kept things minimal, didn’t go crazy with themes or widgets.

and yeah… now I get it.

it feels insanely smooth, looks clean, and the level of control you get without ruining the aesthetic is kinda insane.

I didn’t do anything special, just a few small tweaks , but it already feels way more “mine” than GNOME ever did.

still exploring it though, so I’d love:

  • must-have tweaks
  • hidden features
  • clean widget suggestions
  • anything that actually improves workflow

also curious , what made KDE click for you?

I used GNOME for about a year and honestly loved the simplicity, so every time I tried KDE before, it just felt… messy and overwhelming. I’d always switch back within a day.

But I decided to give KDE one proper try again, and this time I kept things minimal instead of over-customizing everything.

And yeah… now I get it.

It feels insanely smooth, looks clean, and the amount of control you get without breaking the aesthetic is just perfect. I didn’t go crazy with themes or widgets, just small tweaks , but it already feels way more “mine” than GNOME ever did.

Lowkey feels like the best balance between macOS-level polish and Linux-level freedom.

Still exploring KDE though, so I’d love:

  • must-have tweaks
  • hidden features
  • clean widget suggestions (not cluttered stuff)
  • anything that improves workflow or aesthetics

Also curious , what made you stick with KDE?

I’m seriously thinking of switching to Linux because I’m starting to hate using Windows. The only thing holding me back right now is gaming. I mainly want to play Forza Horizon (planning to get FH6 on Steam when it comes out), and I’m not sure how well it’ll run on Linux, especially with things like Proton and compatibility. I’m completely new to Linux gaming, so I’d really appreciate some guidance: Will Forza Horizon games run properly on Linux (performance, online, etc.)? Which distro is best for gaming right now? Is it worth switching, or should I just stick to Windows for now? Would love to hear from people who’ve actually tried gaming on Linux.

Was just messing around and somehow ended up taking more screenshots than actually playing 😭

Didn’t expect it to look this good honestly

Which one do you like the most?
