Hi everyone, I'm starting a 3+2 program in the Fall, Physics & Engineering dual degree. I've been offered a MacBook Pro for my HS graduation gift. My boyfriend says I should just look ahead to the engineering part of my schooling 4 years from now and get a solid gaming laptop now so I'll be able to integrate with the programs I'll have to be using. I admit I'd rather have the Mac now, but I know he's right about what I'll need in future. Is what he's suggesting necessary for the upcoming few years though? If asked I can provide the details of the laptop he's suggesting. Any advice appreciated, thanks!

At my HS, they give out college flags on Decision Day and we can keep them. Rummaging around I found this one, which is felt and all stitched together or glued together from individual pieces! It also has felt tabs you can use to attach to a thin pole. Can anyone identify what years it's from? Google was vague, said it was no older than '89 but that's really it..
