East Village San Diego
Hi everyone! I'm moving to San Diego in a few months and trying to stay around $2k for an apartment. I want to get a better understanding of how bad the homeless situation is in the East Village, and what it's like living there in general. For context, I'm a 36F currently living in downtown Oakland. I don't like walking my dog around here with all the broken glass, garbage and poop everywhere. I don't need to be in the safest neighborhood in the world; I just don't want to be constantly dodging people who are on drugs and yelling, or stepping over mattresses that people are lying on. I want to feel safe walking to/from places after dark also, which is not really the case here. I've had a few scary encounters and don't want to deal with it anymore. I'm hoping someone can help me specifically compare the two places. I like being where the action is, but I don't want to be stressed out every time I walk my dog lol. Thanks in advance!
