I am a junior in High School, gearing up for college applications next semester. I am trying to narrow down which UC schools have the best research opportunities for undergraduates in physics (as this is a big factor for me). currently I am looking to compare UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, and UC San Diego. I know that UC Santa Cruz has a world class astrophysics program which sounds enticing but I am also not quite sure how to interpret those online rankings or if they even speak to research opportunities at all. If anyone has insight into which schools have good and available undergraduate research, and what each schools "specialty" is that would be great!
