I (M26) have been seeing a woman (F28) on and off for about 2years and 2months. She and I never tried for a relationship as it was something she said she couldnt handle due to past traumatic events and actively trying to better herself in therapy. This was never an issue, in fact after she explained it I understood her perspective and respected it. We’ve always had a good bond and conversations flow very well. Shes very kind to me and treats me well. However just a few days ago I stayed the night with her. It was her idea. Prior to this I should mention she did tell me she liked me romantically and said she wanted to give it a chance. Since then shes been more kind and more romantic towards me. Not just in the bedroom anymore but outside of it as well shes more intimate in a romantic sense I guess. Well anyways I went over to her place, and met her cat. When I first walked in the first thing I noticed was how empty the livingroom was and how many filled holes from nails were on the wall from missing pictures. I asked and she said her roommate had recently moved out and took a majority of the things with her. She has an apartment so this didnt shock me to find she had a roommate still, as she mentioned it beforehand a couple years back. Well everything was going great. Normal convos, intimacy, and I got to meet her pet cat. As the night went on she asked if I was hungry. I said yes. We ordered doordash and I paid. When the food arrived her ring camera went off and she said “food here”
This is where it gets concerning. I was already up cause I was playing with the cat. She was laying on the bed. When I said “i’ll go get the food” she jumped up and said “I got it. You cant.” At first my mind went “I cant????” So I asked exactly that. She then said quickly “Yea cause of the ring camera” and when I said “what?” She said “what? I forgot what I was saying” that whole exchange was weird so I just let it go and let her go get the food. Her expression seemed almost panicked or scared. I should mention this ring camera was on the front door. She had me enter through the back door. Though it being my first time at her place I didnt realize it was her backdoor cause the apartment layout is weird. The backdoor leads to a patio tree area. The front door leads to the corridor where mail/apartment numbers are on the door. I entered through the backdoor which she led me to from the parkinglot shortly after I arrived. I put all of that together in the time she had taken to go get the food.
Knowing her for 2+ years, she never wanted a relationship and she gave valid reasons. Now she wants a relationship and the first time I go over to her house theres clear evidence of a big move from a previous roommate. Plus ontop of that she was weird about me being on the ring camera. Am I paranoid or does this not make any sense? Perspective would be nice.
