Hi, so I have been charged with DUI and have the option to get a restricted license and get a court orderd interlock in my car. I was planning on getting an ignition interlock installed through Smart Start who rents their devices on a month to month basis. this is good because I am only going to be in the state of TN for 2 months and then I am moving to a walkable city and im going to sell my car. does anyone know if it is possible to get it removed prematurely? Smart Start has told me that they will only remove the device with authorization from the DMV and im wondering if there is a form or something that I can fill out that proves that I am selling my car or that the title of the car wont be in my name anymore? I am freaking the hell out because my installation appointment is in 3 days, ive been in my DMV’s call back queue for over a week, i even went to my DMV and they just told me to call the number ive been on hold with, my DMV’s website is also broken, and my lawyer is being generally unhelpful. If anyone has any insight into this please please let me know!
