Support my favorite coffee in Murray hill: Coffee Haus!
Just wanted to shoutout my local coffee spot, the Coffee Haus on 37th and 3rd in Murray hill!
This spot used to be a place called Perk which we loved a ton and were sad to see it close. Coffee Haus quickly took over and it has been a joy ever since. Amber owns the shop and is the only employee, and she is just the most explosively welcoming, interesting individual. Every stop by you’ll be welcomed joyfully, and upon ordering a syrup in your drink she’ll always ask if you want the flavor to be a whisper, an inside voice or a scream, without fail. (I always go for inside voice and it’s always perfect).
Stick around for at least 10 minutes and you’re guaranteed to watch a new character come in the shop who knows Amber, whether it’s a lovely posh old woman, a fireman or local worker with their own “usual” order and a new exciting story to share. Every moment in there feels like it’s straight out of a TV show. The ambience itself is just wonderful, slightly eclectic, comfortable seating and always backed with a great playlist.
And, the coffee is great. You can write your order on the walls. Bonus on top is that she sells Balthazar pastries as well.
If you’re ever in the area I just can’t recommend coffee haus enough, amber deserves all the support!! I live across the street but am moving at the end of this month and we will miss her dearly.
