My landlord preferred cash rent, delayed fixing registration/mailbox name issues, and generally acted like basic documentation was an unreasonable request. The whole setup often felt far more informal than expected for a normal rental situation.

At one point I was even checking and delivering THEIR mail because their names were still still connected to the apartment. I genuinely remember thinking… am I renting here or working as their personal PostNord service.

What made it especially strange was regularly hearing complaints about “people not respecting the system” from the same people avoiding basic rental responsibilities themselves.

I genuinely don’t understand how people say these things out loud without hearing the contradiction.
