Just out of interest really as we’re a long way off that yet! Last night I was chatting to my 4yo as I was putting her to bed and she asked me to go to the shops after she was in bed to buy croissants for breakfast this morning. I explained that I couldn’t because daddy was out and there needed to be at least one grown up in the house to keep her and her baby sis safe. This was apparently mind blowing information to her 😂 and it got me wondering when other people felt they could pop out to the shops without worrying.
For context I have a 4yo and a 20mo, we live in a fairly safe area of a small city with friendly neighbours. Our road is mostly families and retired people and there are lots of family homes in the surrounding area, but there are also student houses and a few dodgy hmos, plus we’re not far from an area with lots of pubs and get the odd lairy drunk wandering around at the weekend.
