To the Assassin I bumped into under Station:
I probably never would have noticed you crammed up there in the racks in the drone storage room if you hadn't shuffled around a bit to get a better look at me, down in the entrance area.
Luckily I happened to be a Recon, so I popped my ult and saw you were a blue shield to my lowly grey free kit. I prepared myself to die yet again, but for some reason you ran away up the stairs to the tunnels.
Perplexed, I walked over to where you were, and we both learned something new.
I heard a weird beeping sound I've never heard before coming from up in the racks, so I shimmied up to investigate, and found a purple key card template and a blue Station key on the ground, one of which was making the noise. I didn't know this either, but apparently when you drop key cards they put out a cute little distress signal, like the cargo bot containers.
You must have heard me coming and decided to drop them in a nice safe dark corner and come back for them later, and sprinted away before you could hear the beeping.
It very quickly dawned on me that I had put myself in a No Country For Old Men-style situation, and you could come running back down that corridor to Anton Chigurh all over me any second now.
So I scurried all the way over to North Relay, paranoid and *convinced* you were around every corner waiting to gut me like a fish, and threw myself into the first exfil I could find and out to safety.
Now all this would be bad enough, but after I exfiled Marathon decided to really rub it in. The game showed me footage of you sneaking your way back down into the storage room under Station. I thought to myself, 'No, it can't be...', but it was. You did a quick sweep of the room, then hopped back up into the racks to claim your prize... and it wasn't there. You frantically searched around in the dark corners, but it was gone, and then your camera went still for a moment, and I could feel the despair radiating outward.
I am so, so sorry. If it's any consolation, one of your Assassin cousins is probably going to gank me before I get a chance to actually use those keys.
