Richard Prince photo on new Strokes album
Hi all, I'm a first-year art history student who's been lurking for a bit— hope this post is okay. I just saw the artwork for the Strokes' upcoming album and it seems it is (or is a very clear reference to) Richard Prince's work photographing Marlboro ads. I think the layers of appropriation going on here are super interesting! Any thoughts on this?
