Some thoughts on Roads to Power
Started as a Scottish mercenary in 1066, headed south with two loyal retainers as Norwegian invaders hit northern England.
Set up camp in Wales and found work as sellswords with local Welsh nobles. When that work dried up, struck East, after being given 100 Welsh longbowmen as gratitude for helping a Welsh lord quell a rebellion. Stayed in London as William solidified his reign as the new king of England. Hopped across the channel to Paris in search of more lucrative opportunities. Got caught up in a scheme to undermine the young king of France, and met a beautiful French common girl, fell in love and married. She fell ill, so we packed up and headed across a war torn Burgundy, crossed the Alps, and sought the warmer air of Italy, where we camped in Tuscany, taking the odd contract here and there to pay the bills, hobnobbed with Duchess Matilda, and had two children, a beautiful girl and a rowdy little boy. Think we'll stay a while, my children are young and the wine is good and both are strong. The wife has recovered her health, and the armies of Matilda keep the peace well enough.
And all this before the year 1100.
Absolutely loving Roads to Power. I'd consider myself a veteran CK3 player, I've lost count of how many complete playthroughs I've done. And I didn't expect it but Roads to Power is a total game changer for me. And I haven't even touched Administrative or the new start date yet.
