Started this campaign thinking CK3 just goes on forever… turns out the game had other plans 😭
“Started this campaign thinking CK3 just goes on forever… turns out the game had other plans 😭
I genuinely didn’t know 1453 was the hard ending, so seeing ‘The End’ pop up out of nowhere felt weirdly emotional. I’m kinda disappointed I didn’t manage to conquer the whole world before the curtain closed, but honestly… looking at the map now, I can’t even be mad.
From a small beginning to a dynasty that dominated from Arabia deep into Asia and Africa, survived centuries, and ended as Legendary with 4k+ dynasty members. That’s probably the most attached I’ve gotten to a CK3 run.
Part of me is sitting here thinking ‘just one more century and Europe was finished too’ 💀
Anyway… this was my first full campaign to the end date. Curious what you guys think of the final map and the dynasty run.”
Favorite Camp Purpose?
I’ve only tried swords-for-hire and can’t decide between scholars and explorers next. Which one is your favorite to play so far?
Immortal does not feel like i thought it would
I don't know what it is. For over a year I've been met with disappointment as my amazing custom ruler died naturally at the age of 125. I thought immortal would be fun. The greatest conqueror of the world had ever known could never die. And then it was given to me. And it was all a little too easy.
Even if I created the most amazing ruler ever, I still had to construct my empire in a way that it wouldn't completely fall apart after his death. And then , of course , the real strategy would begin amidst a constant stream of wars. But the creation of the empire was still strategic.
Now, it doesn't matter who I marry, who my heir, or how many kids I have. I slaughter everything. I rule everyone. And it just doesn't feel right. I forgot that I liked the realism, and I liked the chance, and "story" that played out. So, I think Immortal will be a nice save to have, but overall, I don't see it as something I will do many times over.
I will say however, for a game that likes realism it really doesn't handle Immortality very realistically.
You're gonna tell me that people are going to observe an immortal ruler - that is the greatest conqueror in the history of the world - has 1/5 Legitimacy after uniting two massive kingdoms.
Man, I'm a secular American who observes royalty as "fun". But if Superman came down, united the people of the world under a just government, and struck down infidels and maniacs of the world. Even I would admit "Yes, he is THE guy!"
Roads to power ideas?
Fellow wanderers, I'm curious what are some of your inspirations/ideas on characters to create or play as landless adventurers for the upcoming dlc.
Personally, I think in my first playthrough I'll be creating Brancaleone da Norcia, from the Italian movie "L'armata Brancaleone". A Don Quixotesque, fictional knight with noble aspirations but zero means leading a small group of misfits through a plague-ridden Italy in search of "promised land". He is the quintessential "loser" of the chivalric world, believing himself to be great knight destined to great things and trying to seduce noble women but he fails miserably and clumsily in almost everything he does. Let's see where this leads me.
What about you? :)
Guys when is the dlc dropping
Im choosing not to read the other posts about when it’s dropping and instead making this one. Someone answer please.
What's your favorite feature coming with the new DLC
Me personally the new government and landless gameplay
How WE all moving on Monday
And the new government system
My only gripe(as of now) ever since the dlc dropped
Is that I can’t move the event box thing specifically when I select a relevant character to see their stats or traits, like it sometimes gets in the way and it’s annoying, especially when I’m trying to do a certain playstyle. Is there a fix to this I don’t know? Or are we stuck in a guessing game. I just want to form my own Italian mafia without having to guess if this character is Italian or not.
Any other Vikings enjoy my realm?
Yes I like playing cheated but the second the new dlc hits I won't play cheated for long. Also hope you all enjoy my map.
How the byzantines GENUINELY gonna be moving in 37 hours
What was added in the new update?
I know a new start date and a few little other things were added, anyone have the patch notes to see everything major and minor?
Where's the dlc???
For up early and still no roads to power.
Overview of Byzantine families
Does anyone have a clue where you can see this overview of different noble families in the realm, where it shows which ones are powerful?
I have no idea where to find that
I won't be able to try the new DLC for another 3 weeks, so make me dream by telling me how good the game has become.
Some people say that rain is the tears of the sky, this post is my tears
Was anyone else taking a break before Roads to Power/Wandering Nobles?
I wanted to go in with zero burnout so i’m extra hype to jump back in with a fresh slate.
Love the new music player!
The soundtrack for this DLC absolutely slaps
How it GENUINELY feels waiting for the EXACT TIME for this dlc to come out
To My Console Friends
With the release of the new update I just wanted to say from someone who plays this game on PC and has had the privilege to enjoy Roads to Power for a while! HAVE FUN! For someone that loves playing as the Eastern Romans this DLC had been a lot of fun for me! Enjoy it!
