What is going on in kenya?

Kenyans who went to court to block the sale of Safaricom have accidentally given this government more than KSh16 billion.

Yes, billion.

And the irony is truly shocking.

The Ruto government had planned to sell part of its Safaricom shares. Some Kenyan petitioners rushed to court. The courts issued orders and stopped the sale.

Now look at what happened last week. Safaricom released its results and declared over KSh80 billion in dividends.

Because the sale was blocked, the government still holds its full 35 percent stake. That means the government will now receive around KSh16 billion or more in dividends that would have gone to new buyers.

Think about it.

The very people that UDA insults every single day, the courts, the activists, and the petitioners, may have just protected billions of shillings for Kenya.

This situation also raises a serious question. Why is the government in such a hurry to sell one of the strongest and most profitable companies in the country?

Safaricom makes huge profits year after year. It is one of the few national assets that keeps delivering massive returns to the country.

Selling such a valuable company without any real national emergency is like a poor farmer selling his best milk cow just to get quick money, then waking up the next day to beg for milk from neighbours.

It simply does not make sense.

Unless the real goal was never about helping Kenya in the first place.
