Hi everyone,

My name is Tahmid Ahnaf, im 19 . I’m originally from Bangladesh, but currently I live in the United States and I’m planning a dream backpacking trip through Switzerland before continuing toward Italy.

The places I really want to visit are:

Oeschinensee Lake

Lauterbrunnen

Grindelwald

Rosenlaui Valley

Schäfler Ridge

Saxer Lücke

Zermatt

I haven’t fully figured out the perfect route yet, so I would really appreciate advice from people who know Switzerland better than me. I’m trying to plan it in a way that makes sense by train, bus, hiking, and maybe staying in mountain huts or budget places when possible.(im kinda brokemaxing my way through it)

I’m not expecting anyone to drive me around, but if someone is already roadtripping through any of these areas and would be open to having a respectful backpacker join for part of the route, I’d be happy to help with gas and costs to the best of my ability. I have been in many roadtrips in the US one of which was the North pacific west which was by far the best thing i ever did in my life!! but yeah I know this is a big ask, but you never know unless you ask. what if theres someone out there who would let me tag along hehe :P

I know Switzerland is expensive, so I’m also trying to make this trip realistic on a student and backpacker budget. If anyone has advice on cheaper bases to stay, which places need a full day, which ones are better skipped if the weather is bad, or how to connect these destinations without wasting too much time, I’d be super grateful.

I’m also open to meeting locals, students, hikers, photographers, or travelers who might want to join for part of the journey so hit me up :PPP .

What I can offer in return is cool videos of you!! stories, cultural exchange, and videography. I always travel with my camera, Proto, and I document my adventures around the world. I can make cool travel videos or photos for anyone who joins or helps me along the way.

Here is one of my travel videos so you can see my style:

I can also share what it’s like being from Bangladesh and studying college in the United States. I’d especially love to connect with college students in Switzerland who are into hiking, travel, photography, road trips, or just good conversations.

Any advice, route ideas, warnings, local tips, or connections would mean a lot.

Thank you!
Tahmid Ahnaf
