Qingdao Garrison Army Commemoration Signed Itō
Siege Of Qingdao or Tsingtao was a WW1 battle where Japan captured a port from Germany, the battle finished by Nov 7 1914. The Qingdao Garrison Army was established on Nov 27 1914 to hold the port. They did hold the port until they were disbanded Dec 15 1922. The initial Qingdao Garrison Army was formed of members of the 18th Division who had taken the port in the Siege. The soldier who owned this cup wrote his last name on it, 伊藤 "Itō". Its from some time between Nov 27 1914 and Dec 15 1922. I know the last cup I posted was prettier but this one is older and has an interesting story. I promise the next one I post will be a pretty 1930s one.
