Where is Baby Harper? They don’t even mention her anymore and Shona is never at the hospital. Is she ever coming home? They said weeks ago that the surgery was a success. Have the writers forgotten about her? Is she wherever Baby Frankie is?
My husband recently had a heart transplant combined with LVAD ex-plant. He had a few post-surgical complications and required two additional open-heart procedures, so he is still in the CVICU.
He is now improving enough that his team wants to transfer him to the step-down unit this week. One of our neighbours is a nurse in this unit. We have known her for years. She is a lovely, kind, compassionate person. She is also one of the biggest gossips in our neighbourhood. She is part of a clique of neighbours who know everyone’s business and talk about it. I know this because I am a peripheral member of this group.
We would prefer that she not be assigned to him (the nurse to patient ratio in the step-down unit is 2:1). If I speak to the charge nurse, will our neighbour find out we requested not to have her? I don’t need any neighbourhood drama right now.
Husband is twelve days post transplant (his transplant included an LVAD explant) and he has pseudomonas. They believe it may have been colonized in his LVAD and escaped during surgery.
Last time pseudomonas made him septic, we almost lost him. This time he has no immune system to help him. I’m terrified. Any happy endings from pseudomonas survivors would be greatly appreciated.
