I’m interested in looking for a therapist (likely short term) to talk/work through some emotions that I’m feeling around an upcoming life transition (relationship related). My end goal is to determine if I’m making the right steps/choices for what I want out of life.
From what I’ve read, I don’t feel that CBT is a good fit for what I want out of therapy sessions. It’s likely not a clinical term, but what I have in mind is more on the lines of traditional talk therapy.
What modalities would align with what I’m describing, so I can look for someone who offers them?
Another side question if that’s ok - what are the practical differences between common certifications that therapists may have? LCSW vs LPC vs LMFT, etc.
