So I am working on an impression kit of the Royal Logistics Corps/Royal Anglian Regiment (sorta the armoured vehicle drivers). In almost all visible photos, the medical pouch appears to be worn on the right side of the Osprey plate carrier (as seen in the first image; source: Alamy). I've seen it hypothesised that this is to standardise to make it easier to find in an emergency (source: Tales from the Supply Depot).

However, I am also looking to do some physical activity/airsofting in this kit. After trying it out, I find the placement of many pouches to the right side (the rifle-shouldering side) to be highly annoying, and it constantly clashes with the SA80 when slung.

From what I can tell, the Royal Scots Regiment seems to favour keeping the right side of the plate carrier clean and having the ammo pouch and medical pouch on the left. As seen in the second photo (source: The Telegraph), the medical pouch is seemingly on the left side or left front of the plate carrier.

Would it be anachronistic if I position the medical pouch on the left side for my impression kit, or would you consider this to be an acceptable variation seen in the kit of that era? I still want to do an impression of soldiers from the Royal Logistics Corps due to there being many more photos/videos of them available for reference.

Thank you!

Edit: Attached here is an image showing how, when in an under-the-shoulder resting position, the rifle magazine/butt presses against the medical pouch. Not the biggest fan of this pressing/clashing, as I am worried that it may damage the molle rungs on the armour carrier over time, as the molle stretching and tearing on early Osprey armour carriers are a known problem. The standard SA80 sling is adjusted so as to offer around 3 fingers of play from the front of the armour carrier when in the one-point sling configuration and pulled tight forwards of a ready-esque holding position. Please excuse the many current inaccuracies, including the wrong TRF; still a massive work in progress.
