Ok I’ll preface this by saying I probably need more time to get used to it, having come from an upright shark (NZ801EUT)
I’ve just received my Miele guard L1 Cat & Dog Flex, it came with two heads - the air turbo brush( Turbo brush STB 305-3 ) and a head that is called Suction nozzle SBD 365-3 where you press with foot to switch between carpet and hard floor.
Firstly I did not realize the expectation is that you’re supposed to switch heads depending on what you’re vacuuming - do people really do that? My home has: tiled downstairs with large low pile area rugs, laminate bedrooms also with area rugs, bathroom tile floor with a couple of mats, and a carpeted stair case.
So to switch between heads is not good for me.
I tried using the Suction nozzle SBD 365-3 on my area rugs but it’s really hard to push and pull on it - and on the very small rugs and bathroom mats it’s simply impossible to vacuum at all because it’s too powerful and suctions it up, even in the low setting.
That’s another thing - it’s pretty irritating to have to switch between all the suction levels so much.
Then the turbo brush works ok on the big area rugs and carpet but apparently you’re not meant to use that on the laminate floor or tiles so that’s just pointless.
I’m honestly annoyed as I did hours of research and apparently still got confused by the fact there are different versions in different countries of the same vacuum and different places get different heads (WTF)
My shark upright - I just plugged it in and pushed it and it had a small button on the handle to switch between carpet and hard floors and you could adjust the suction so it wouldn’t be too powerful for a small rug or mat and it just worked great!
I can’t understand why anyone would choose a vacuum where you have to switch heads all the time.
The Miele is also incredibly loud when vacuuming the stairs with the hand held furniture nozzle.
I’m hoping I get used to it.
