It’s a bit of an odd post, but last night, I foolishly locked my car with the keys still inside at Parakiore. Everyone’s been there, and it’s certainly not the first time I or a friend have done so.

So, I called up a friend, and we performed the classic butter knife and clothes hanger maneuver to get inside.

What surprised me, though, was that none of the 30 or so people who walked or drove past said or reported anything. Is this just a Christchurch thing? I used to live in the North Island, and there, we had three police cars roll up within five minutes of our attempt. It’s just a bit odd that not a single person questioned it?
