New Hire (background check/misdemeanors)

Hi everyone,

I recently got an offer/interview with Nordstrom and I’m nervous about the background check process. I have a couple misdemeanors from college related to having a fake ID and underage drinking when I was 20 years old. They are not theft, fraud, or violence-related.

I previously went through a background check with FedEx, and after the report was reviewed manually, I was told I was ineligible for the position. I assume it was likely because of the misdemeanors.

I was wondering if Nordstrom does individualized/manual reviews as well, or if their process is more automatic. Has anyone here been hired at Nordstrom with misdemeanors on their record, especially for retail/sales positions?
