My kids attend the Wiseburn School District in Hawthorne. We’ve been watching the CAASPP test scores and we’re concerned about the declining trend and the comparison to other South Bay school districts, including El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, and Palos Verdes. We’re contemplating a switch and trying to prioritize where we should focus our efforts if we do. 

1. Are the recent concerns for Manhattan Beach USD funding being felt in the classrooms yet? We’re reading news articles that are speculating the lack of funding will/already are resulting in large class sizes and teacher layoffs. Is this true and being felt by parents in the district? 
2. Looking at the private schools in the area, I’m curious how the academics at American Martyrs compare. Any insights or data that would help us understand how AMS students perform? 
3. Has anyone else left Wiseburn recently for one of these school districts? What’s been your experience if so?
