Any apartments under $1k?

So I am looking for any apartments that are under $1k with utilities included! Open to roommates but not shared rooms.

I am hoping to find something soon.

Hoping to save up $1k+ where I currently live and maybe a little more than that before I head out of here. I’m trying to move out of Rhode Island ASAP.

I currently work at Amazon as a seasonal employee (former blue badge) hoping to be hired again.

So I will stay here for just 3 or 4 more months before heading out to California. So I just added everything and it should be close to $1,200. With tax.

What’s the deal with jehovah witness around here? I just got a call on my cell from a woman who sounds like she was 98 years old telling me to go to JW.org to read the latest article about Jesus. Had my name and everything.

I also see them standing out by the buss stop trying to talk to people. A group of them knock on doors in our neighborhood pretty often. All of them seem to be 65+.

Seems pretty aggressive to me and very icky having very old people who can barely walk out there trying to get people to join the church. More people means more money.

Any recommendations for a piercing shop in South Bay? Looking to get a 2nd lobe and helix and would love to stay around here instead of going back to OC where I got my first ones done.

No, not rage bait. I'm looking for a convenient place that sells bait for ocean fishing. Something walkable to the Hermosa Pier is preferred, but can make a quick car run if they aren't close enough. And yes, I know you can't eat the catch from the pier.

So my hair is very long. I haven’t had a haircut in maybe 3 years. I want my first cut to be an actually good cut. I’ve been researching for a nice cut and I have something in mind and made a Pinterest board with it.

Can anyone recommend a barber/hairstylist that’s patient enough and that specializes in these “trendy” Asian haircuts? (It’s probably not trendy, I just don’t know how else to describe them lol).

What are some good local dispensaries I can support? I’ve seen a lot of smoke shops in the South Bay but they don’t sell THC products

UPDATE: I stopped by Liberty Beach Center on my way home from work and had a great experience! No line, staff was knowledgeable and patient, and the employee working showed me how to get signed up for their app where you can get rewards on your purchases. Thanks everyone who recommended!

Most of the listings on amazon are now showing as Sunday delivery on a Tuesday order. I also had a delivery yesterday that was out for delivery not get delivered until today. Is it just me? I’m in North Torrance. Some common items can still be delivered overnight/same day but it looks like a lot of the stuff is now going to take 5 days to deliver. Is this the new normal?

Lorraine Bird, an 86-year-old former Redondo Beach Realtor, disappeared from her Twentynine Palms home shortly after discussing a counteroffer on the sale of her house last May. Ten days later, her body was found in a remote, graffiti-covered boulder area in the Mojave Desert. Authorities have not determined whether she died from natural causes or foul play, and no arrests have been made, leaving her family searching for answers.

Before her disappearance, Bird had reportedly been under growing stress involving disputes with her daughter and grandson over money tied to the home. According to a real estate attorney and others close to her, Bird wanted to sell the property and leave the desert, but felt pressured by family members over repayment for improvements and down payment funds. Friends and professionals who worked with her said she appeared mentally sharp, deeply involved in the sale process, and increasingly eager to get away from the living situation.

The case has since fractured Bird’s surviving family. Her son believes troubling warning signs preceded her death, while her daughter and grandson deny any involvement and reject accusations against them. The autopsy was inconclusive, noting severe heart disease but no definitive evidence of an unnatural cause of death, while the strange circumstances surrounding where her body was found and the disappearance of her car and belongings have only deepened the mystery.

I (35F) currently have all my care with UCLA, but am looking to find a primary that is a bit more personal. Right now I see my GP for about 90 seconds a year, she looks in my eyes and ears and thumps on my stomach and then sends me to get blood drawn. Anyone have recommendations for a primary that will actually like… sit and talk with you? Have appointments for acute things rather than sending you to urgent care? Overall take a holistic view of your health?

Am I asking too much of the American healthcare system?

I'm 21 and about to graduate college with a computer science degree, and interested in surfing, diving, rock climbing, and FPV drones. Also currently working on a drone manufacturing startup right now. I want to make some more connections with people in tech for the fun of it, to be able to talk about nerdy stuff. Does anyone have any recommendations on where/how to meet people in the tech world here? I heard El Segundo is super tech-focused right now but I'm not sure how exactly to go about it. Would appreciate any tips!

My son has autism and ADHD. He has been going to Lunada Bay and I am considering pulling him from the school because his “friends” are singling him out and teasing him. I was told by his psychiatrist that this might start happening around this age (he is 9) and am heartbroken at the thought of him feeling bad about himself for being a little different. If anyone has any experience with this please share. Thank you.
