Anyone know what this is?

Anyone know what this is?

This is what my body looks like when I get out of the shower 10 months post scabies. My feet are the worse. I had scabies for 6 years so I don’t know if this is some kind of prolonged type of post scabies. I also used permethrin quite a bit so maybe my skin is damaged from that. It goes away like 10 minutes after getting out the shower. Any advice helps.

Ok I’m not sure how many people can top my scabies story. I got them in the summer before college. I didn’t know what it was for a couple months until I finally figured it out. I got rid of them using permethrin and instantly got reinfected by a friend who I assume I gave them to. I was extremely insecure about them so I did not talk about it to anyone. I tried curing myself with natural remedies for the rest of my freshman year of college, with no success. At this point I was extremely depressed and have infected all of my roommates and could not muster up the courage to tell them. I accepted that scabies were just a part of my life as if I were to cure myself I would just get reinfected. I dealt with scabies for all of college and a little after. THE TOTAL TIME OF ME BEING INFESTED WITH SCABIES WAS 6 YEARS!! It was the hardest thing I have ever been through and it completely destroyed my social life. Once I was in an isolated environment, I decided to do whatever it takes to get rid of the scabies. I made a bunch of my own permethrin cream and bought of a ton of ivermectin for horses. I probably did 5 doses of ivermectin and 10 generous applications of permethrin, along with every natural remedy I could find in about a month time span. I killed the bastards finally and have been scabie free since. I know I’m a terrible person for not telling my friends that we all had scabies but I was in a dark place back then. I don’t even remember how I dealt with scabies for that long. It is almost traumatic to think back to and I don’t remember much, I think my brain has blocked this miserable time of my life.

here are my tips,

  1. You can make your own permethrin cream, look up how to do this.
  2. horse ivermectin is just as good as normal ivermectin as long as you get the right kind so do your research.
  3. make sure to throw worn clothes, towels, and bedding in trash bags for at least 72 hours.
  4. do not over treat like I did. I still have skin issues almost a year later after treatment due to overuse.
  5. try your best to stay out of your head. you can cure it, you just need to be strategic with your treatment. Cover your body head to toe in permethrin (just watch out for eyes and mouth).
  6. post scabies will make you think you’re reinfected. if you treated yourself properly, they will all die. The itchiness can last for months, I still feel itchy to this day, but it is way more manageable.

keep your head up and wage war against these demons, you need to have a killer mentality to get rid of these stubborn parasites. you got this! Feel free to ask me any questions.
