I started doing something stupid simple: phone down, look straight up at the ceiling for 60 seconds, breathe. I call it STOP. TILT. BREATHE.

It's not a cure, but it gives my brain a second to remember I don't argue with cravings anymore.

Anyone else have a physical reset that works in that window?

3 things sobriety actually taught me:

  1. Triggers don't disappear. They get quieter. Stress, birthdays, good news they all show up. Learn your early signal and have a plan before it hits.

  2. You don't have to fix every relationship. You do have to forgive yourself first. The rest sorts itself out or it doesn't, and that's okay.

  3. It's not about restriction. It's about protection. You're protecting the life you're building.
