As our community continues to grow, we are looking for active and responsible moderators to help maintain discussions, enforce rules fairly, and ensure the subreddit remains organized and welcoming.
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be Assamese indigenous and understand the cultural, social, and political sentiments of the subreddit
- Be familiar with Reddit Content Policy, Moderator Code of Conduct, and the rules of r/AssamSpeaks
- Understand the sensitivity of political and regional discussions and be capable of taking unbiased moderation actions
- Have a verified Reddit account
- Have a reasonable level of karma, activity, and participation
- Have an older Reddit account (accounts created recently or with suspicious activity may not be considered)
Preferred Qualities
- Previous moderation experience (not mandatory)
- Ability to stay calm during heated discussions
- Good communication and decision-making skills
- Active availability on Reddit

- What is your age?
- Are you Assamese indigenous? Briefly tell us about your background.
- How long have you been using Reddit?
- Have you moderated any subreddit, Discord server, forum, or online community before?
- How active are you on Reddit daily?
- Why do you want to moderate r/AssamSpeaks?
- How would you handle political arguments or controversial discussions?
- What would you do if another moderator makes a biased or unfair decision?
- Are you familiar with Reddit’s Content Policy and Moderator Code of Conduct?
- Share your Reddit username/profile link.
Application Instructions
- Applications must be sent through ModMail with the subject: Mod Application
- Any other subjects/titles may be ignored.
- Applicants may also use Reddit’s inbuilt moderator application system if available.
Important Notes
- This recruitment will remain open until further notice.
- Applications will be reviewed at the discretion of the existing moderation team.
- Please avoid repeatedly asking for the status of your application.
- Forcing, spamming, harassing moderators for responses, or attempting to pressure the moderation team may result in moderator action depending on the situation.
- Moderation is a responsibility, not a position of power. We are looking for people who can act fairly, responsibly, and in the best interest of the community.
