Trying to decide between Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2 2026 vs Defy Advanced 1 2026 — first carbon road bike
Hi everyone,
Trying to choose between the Giant Defy Advanced Pro 2 2026 and Defy Advanced 1 2026 for my first carbon road bike.
Pro 2:
- Mechanical 105
- Carbon wheels
- SL fork and seatpost
Advanced 1:
- 105 Di2
- Alloy wheels
- Standard fork and seatpost
- £400 cheaper
Is the difference in fork and seatpost that much of a big deal?
And would you rather get Di2 now and upgrade wheels later, or get the better wheelset from the start and upgrade drivetrain later on?
Mostly riding endurance/long rides, not racing. Looking for the best long-term choice.
