I’ve come to realize my husband is likely an alcoholic or at risk… he’s drinking 3 pints of beer daily Monday thru Friday and even more on weekends. It’s been 2 years since he said he will start cutting back and he hasn’t. He might pull off 24 hours of not drinking but soon as that happens he celebrates with more beer. Am I overreacting or is this a cause for concern? I was at my last straw when he smashed 9 beers and started crying when I said I was getting tired and ready to leave a kids birthday party we were at. It’s as if he regressed into a toddler and throwing tantrums because leaving meant he had to stop drinking. He’s 40 years old. Am I tripping? Or just being a nag? I want to help and idk how? He’s in denial that his behavior is a problem when he’s out drinking and we are amongst friends. All of a sudden I’m the enemy and the target of his embarrassment. Can anyone give me some insight and perspective?
