Question about Yonkers School Bus Cameras – Intersection/Cross-Traffic
I had a confusing moment today in Yonkers and I’m looking for some insight.
I was at a 4-way intersection. A school bus was stopped on the cross-street just before the stop sign. I was traveling on the perpendicular road.
As I was passing through the intersection, another school bus that was on the same street as the stopped bus actually drove right past it while its red lights were flashing.
I ended up proceeding through the intersection too since I was on the cross-street and the other bus had already moved. The bus didn’t honk, and I’ve had a similar situation a month ago where no ticket ever arrived.
Has anyone in Yonkers been ticketed by the stop-arm cameras when they were on the perpendicular street? And does the fact that another bus passed it suggest the cameras might not have been active?
