Request: Hot & Humid Weather Rider Review of RST Leather/Mesh Jacket & Pants

Looking for first hand reviews of how well these jackets and pants flow air. Either this gen or previous gen look really similar.

Not really interested in opinions on the use of these vehicles. I’m genuinely curious if yall are hauling out your harvests with them and if so how.

Who here carries a trauma kit with them on their motorcycle? How do you like to carry it?

What inspired you to carry it?

Do you inform anyone you're riding with that you have one in case something were to happen?

Did you make it yourself or buy a premade kit? What's in it?

What organization or classes did you use to get trained to use it?

Have you ever had to use it? What happened?

If you don't carry one, why not?

I've hosted several classes now in GA with paramedics training riders how to respond in an accident. How many of us are out there? I've had to use my kit 3 separate times over 18 years of riding but each time I was so thankful that I had it. Now there are 30+ riders around GA who have received the training and are also carrying too. Here's the incidents I responded to as first on the scene:

First, fractured hand from falling off motorcycle after a rider locked up a front wheel. Splinted hand to immobilize while waiting for paramedics.

Second, friend broke his pinky lowsiding deep into the mountains. We were able to patch him up, immobilize the pinky, and get him to the hospital to get checked out.

Third, CPR respiration mask used on a rider who got ran over while delivering chest compressions and rescue breaths. He unfortunately did not make it.

I just bought a SOB kit made by Refuge Medical to carry on my person for self rescue if separated from my motorcycle or immediate response during assessment of a downed rider/driver. It contains:

  • CAT Gen 7 Tourniquet
  • Chest Seal (2pk)
  • Flat Duct Tape
  • Nasopharyngeal Airway, 28 fr.
  • Compact Compression Bandage, 4"
  • Gloves, pair
  • Compressed Gauze
  • Antiseptic Towelettes (3)
  • Permanent Marker
  • Added 1 set of trauma shears.

Its more for GSWs but is appropriate for riding as well. What would you add to an on-body carry rig for motorcyclists?

I carry a larger trauma kit on my motorcycle made by Rhino Rescue. I added a couple more TQs bringing my total to 4 (1 on body and 3 in the bag), and some burn dressing for severe road rash.

If you think this is too much don't worry I'll still help you anyways! You can use your HSA or FSA to purchase this life saving equipment!
