Upgrade path for Forza Horizon 6 in 4K by DLSS/60FPS: RTX 5060 or 5070? (Coming from 3050)
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on my next GPU upgrade. I'm currently running an RTX 3050 8GB, and while it's been okay in Forza Horizon 5 (high + 60FPS + 4k DLSS quality - yeah Forza it's really well optimized LOL), I'm ready to move up for a very specific goal.
I want to play the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 in 4K at a stable 60 FPS, targeting High/Ultra settings. I am perfectly fine with (and actually planning on) using DLSS to achieve this.
I am NOT a "triple-A" gamer. I don't care about Cyberpunk, Pragmata, or even the upcoming GTA 6. My PC is basically a Forza machine (and a few old games or indie games that you could play with a GT220).
The Dilemma:
- RTX 5060 8GB: I found a great deal for around $400 (converted from my local currency). It has a very low power draw and the price is tempting. Does DLSS 4/Frame Gen make 4K/60 feasible for a well-optimized game like Forza?
- RTX 5070 12GB: It’s roughly $800 here due to abusive taxes. It's my "ideal" card, but it'stwice the price. Is it overkill if I literally only care about racing games and don't play other demanding titles?
Current Specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i5-11th Gen
- RAM: 32GB DDR4
- Storage: 2TB NVME SSD
- Monitor: 4K 60Hz
I also gonna buy a new power supply, since the one I have now is very old (Corsair CS650M from 2016) so I don't wanna risk. Do you guys think 750w with 80 plus gold from a good brand is enough?
Given that Forza titles are usually very well-optimized but the new one is set in Japan (more dense urban environments), do you think the 5060 can handle 4K/60 with DLSS, or is the 5070's extra VRAM and bus width a must-have for 4K?
Appreciate the help! And sorrry if I say something stupid but I'm not really a tech guy.
