Hey there!
So to bring in some relevant context, I am a new dad here, my toddler is a 1.5 year old girl and my wife and I are happily expecting our second daughter this year!
In a few months after my wife delivers I’ll be headed to Japan to continue my education after being selected to receive a very prestigious scholarship offered by the Japanese government and both me and my wife are really excited for this opportunity and what it can bring to our family!
Now I’ll be gone a few months a time between my home country and Japan, and considering the semester system in Japan (basically only spring and fall per year) I’ll be spending basically 60% of the year over there and 40% back home.
I’d like to know what solid advice can you all give me in order to help support my wife and e-parent my toddler while I am abroad.
Thankfully our timezones overlap well and my free time coincides with available times for my toddler.
My current plan is to spend a solid one to two hours daily with my toddler interacting digitally by teaching her some basic skills like playing what’s this object like games or even some montesory like activities, in addition to having a digital presence robot like the little sphere that moves around so my girls can play with me in my robot form!
I’d love to hear what recommendations do you have.
Thanks Y’all!
