Online Customer Service is so ridiculous.
So I did my grocery shopping on the 5th of May online i paid $412.75. I applied my Coles plus saver 10% off discount.
I get my groceries, all is good. I go over my invoice and the 10% off has not been applied to my final invoice. I contact customer service on Saturday, they offer me credit. I refuse, I want a refund. They agree, tell me I’ll get the refund within 3-5 days. For some reason I get 50c in Coles credit.
Contact them today because… no refund and I wait on live chat for an hour, the person applies a credit and disconnects the chat. I’m back to position 78 in the queue.
I call, I’m on hold for 15 minutes and the person I speak to offers me a credit, I say “no thank you, I’d like a refund.”
The person says “we can’t do that, refunds are only for missing or damaged items.”
I say “well the discount that I applied wasn’t reflected on my final invoice, that discount would not have been in Coles credit, I want my money back.”
Again, she says no. We go back and forth until she eventually agrees to a refund.
I login this evening to my Coles account and what do you know, she’s applied a credit.. so now I’m sitting on $83.35 in Coles credit.
I wonder how high the credit will go before I finally get my refund 🤣
TLDR: trying to get money back, keep getting given more credit.
Updated: my resolution was that I got my $41.27 refund and my account still has the $83.35 credit.
