Hi! Me and a mate will be doing 2-3 nights in Kinmen this november to explore the island and visit a vast majority of the war museums and sites. We plan on hiring a car as we want to drive and stop at as many sites as possible, hence why we wouldn't wanna use a bus or taxi (costs will add up). Scooters aren't our thing either.
I just have some questions regarding the driving experience in Kinmen, I'm Australian and have a full licence so it'll be different:
- How easy is it to get around in a car (small hatchback)?
- Are all roads car friendly? Some on google maps seem to be scooter only but street view showed cars driving on them.
- How does crossing the Kinmen bridge work for foreigners? I assume we need to pay a toll, would it be cash?
- What is parking like in Kinmen, is it readily available in the smaller museums/sights?
- Best navigation app for driving in Kinmen? People recommend Google Maps across Taiwan so would this suffice?
Thank you!
