I'm looking for about 5 people to use my new app to just scan a few price tags while you are already out grocery shopping at the usual stores. Basically just testing my app - each scan earns points, some more than others. I'm not asking some one to just go buck wild scanning as a job, but more like along with your regular activities as a bonus. There's a cap, cause i only have a budget, going to run for a minimum of 1 month for now.

A scan is designed to take less that 8s, so it's pretty quick. Unless you scan a product we can't look up, and if you type in the info for it, we get you extra points too.

Payouts:

  • $20 at 50 points
  • $45 at 100 points
  • $80 at 175 points
  • $120 at 250 points

Caps:

  • $200/month max
  • Weeks exceeding the monthly cap don't roll over

Point values per activity

  • Confirmed scan: 3 pt
  • Fresh sale** / deal found: 10 pts
  • New product* added properly: 10 pts

** Fresh sale = a tag with a sale/promo price the app doesn't already have.
* New product = scanning something not in our database and confirming the details.

Mechanics:

  • Week runs Monday–Sunday, points reviewed Monday morning
  • Payment via Interac e-transfer within 3 days of week end
  • Quality clause: payment may be adjusted with direct explanation if activity is high but data quality is poor (failed scans on tags handled fine elsewhere, obvious repetition, scans that don't reflect real store visits)

If it's something you wanna give a try, join the waitlist at bounty.food and drop a DM or comment so I can find you in the waitlist, and we can work out the details. The app doesn't collect any personal information so I won't know how to contact you beyond the email.

My first job post like this, so apologies if I messed it up. Lets see if this works.

thanks.

So far been working on a Calgary-Area specific grocery app, and I think I need some people to try it out. It's intended as a "spot-checker" app to just check the price of a few things you get whenever you are wondering if it's a "good" price. Right now, it just needs more people to scan stuff to share, so for the time being use it for yourself to just keep track of prices, so you can avoid using your memory to recall if something is a good deal or not. App is currently called "Bounty" - for food, and for the game part of it.

I'm open to questions on it, ideally users who have concerns about rising prices could get some use of it. There is a bit of a rewards in it if you scan enough, you can make a few bucks. Tried to make a bit fun to use, so if you are interested - LMK.

Some quick points:

  • designed not to keep personal information - we only keep an email only to send rewards, or to recover logins
  • lots of effort to make it simple scanning with your phone
  • The tester program I call "scouts", more information at the website
  • it's closed beta program, just to make sure doesn't blow up yet
  • it does NOT scrape flyers, all data in it is from other scanners collecting actual prices at the actual stores... so that the retailers can't manipulate us with loss-leaders, limited-quantities, shifting-stock, etc. It's data collected by shoppers, with intelligence for-shoppers.

Questions, please ask.
