Hi there, this might be a stupid question, but I’ve been a little confused this year with my employers contribution to my 401k. My employer does a standard 3% match. I’ve noticed that every year I’ve been employed here, that match comes in the form of a single lump contribution that occurs sometime during the first two weeks of March. But this year March came and went. Then April came and went. And finally on May 1 I saw their lump sum contribution hit my account. My question is, is that bad business practice? Do they have a deadline they are supposed to have their contribution submitted by? The market has gone up like 10-15% since March so it seems like quite a shame to have that contribution bought in at a much higher price, right? Plus two months less time of growth. Is that odd? Any response is appreciated. Thank you!

I’m no landscaper. But we bought this house last summer and I’ve been doing a lot of work in the yard this spring to try to improve things. This is my first decent little project. Cleared out all the grass that had crept into the bed. Pruned the rhododendron. Planted five new mostly shade, part sun loving plants and a handful little of ajuga groundcover. Raked out all the old mulch that was filled with twigs and old waxy oak tree leaves and spread out some new mulch. I might regret the plant placement eventually if they outgrow the space but I think for now I’ll just be happy if everything manages to stay alive!
