So I am an Exams Officer, some of my scripts I have to take to the post office as they are not covered by the DfE's yellow label service agreement with Royal Mail/Parcel Force. In previous years I have taken the exam board branded post bags and been able to send as a consignment and therefore cheaper. First exam today needing to do this, and I was told consignment is no longer a thing.

  1. Anyone know if this is actually true?
  2. Anyone know of the cheapest way to carry on that gives a tracking number which I have to have to meet exam regulations?

For context I was charged £15.95 for an envelope weighing 1.326kg, £10.95 for 0.382g and 0.241g and £11.95 for 0.796g with the receipt stating Special D by 1 (I had asked for the cheapest way to send them with a tracking number). This was 32 scripts....
