Hi everyone! I finished my lc 2 years and this is the best advice I have heard for maths.

For context I got 20% on my maths mocks and around 60% in my actual exam.

I have always struggled with maths despite being a good student at everything else, but couldn’t do foundation as it wouldn’t lead me to the uni I wanted.

I failed my maths mocks miserably and knew it was Time to lock in after that if I had a hope of passing. I saw this video on tiktok a couple of days before my lc exam and my teacher had mentioned it before so decided to bet on it.

As most of you might know maths exams are graded by how well you can resolve a question, but you don’t actually need to get it right.

Basically you get points for writing anything that has slightly anything to do with the actual question.

My best advice if you are lost and have no hope of catching up by exam time is to study formulas and your formula book and know what formulas to use where.

In the day of the exam, if you are stuck, don’t leave anything blank, write down formulas, write down all calculations that have anything to do with the question, basically anything you can think of to resolve that problem.

I don’t think I got a single question right, but I passed because I wrote down formulas and ways I could think of to solve the problem.

I managed to scrape an O5, almost an O4 if I’m not mistaken.

If you still have time, study and do your best, but if you’re really stuck try to use this technique as it was a lifesaver for me personally.

Best of luck for exams, I did pretty well on my lc besides maths and got 500 points and still have notes of anyone is struggling. I don’t want any money or anything for them I just want to help.

The lc for me was the hardest thing I’ve done to date so I want to help out any students that need help. Feel free to dm or reply to me if you need help with anything.

For context I have lived in Ireland for most of my life but was raised by foreign parents and work in a place frequently frequented by teenagers.

I have always noticed this but lately I notice it more. Teenagers in Ireland (not all but most) are completely out of control.

From lads to young girls ive had horrible experiences. The lads shout and scream on the bus from blanch to Finglas after school. Making it unbearable to be on the bus without noise cancelling headphones unless you want a migraine. This is no exaggeration (imagine 20 lads shouting on the top level of a bus for 30 minutes) If you’re sitting waiting for the bus and a group of them comes they’ll fight each other and bump off people or their belongings or surround you until you get up so they can sit down.

The other day while getting the bus around Fairview there was a group of yupbros about 10 sitting on the top floor each by a window with their legs across the seats so no one could sit down. The girls too are disrespectful, never say thank you or please. When I am serving them at work they throw the money on the counter, make fun of employees or look down at you.

Ive had a girl slam a door on my arm at work after I informed her the washrooms weren’t available for use atm. Ive had lads make fun of me and call me stupid.

I would say 20% out of all the ones I serve greet me with a smile and say thank you or please which is sad to see.

The problem is you can’t even say anything out of fear of them (2-3 is ome thing but 20 enraged can be dangerous). That same girl threatened and waited for me outside my workplace. I personally am scared to say something as teenagers in Ireland have no consequences by Gardai and are let of easy if they do something.

My issue is that even as a teenager I was never like this. I always said thank you and please, wished people a good day and was understanding and aware of people around me.

I wonder why teens in Ireland are like this? Is it because they have no consequences? Is it because their parents don’t give them an education? I used to be scared to disrespect someone as a teenagers because if I did my parents would be upset and give out. I think there needs to be a solution to this problem (I have even thought of contacting Dublin bus to put some procedures in place) but I don’t think that would ever happen.

I fear something needs to happen to make a change of the next generation of Ireland is fucked.

(Sorry for the rant)

Edit: I did not think this post would get this much attention.

Thank you for all the people who can have a nice conversation without insulting others. For the people who came after me because I was not born Irish, telling me to go back to my country, or that I am lucky Ireland makes it easy for people to move here, shame on you. I debated whether or not I should say I wasn’t born Irish but I felt like for context it was important.

Just to settle everyone’s concerns, I did not choose to move here, my parents did because my dad got a good job opportunity amongst other private things.

I am here because I had to finish school and now my masters, I am married to a wonderful Irish man and DO NOT HATE IRELAND. I am here for my studies and then I will be moving on.

So please stop throwing mean insults in my face just because I am not Irish. Thank you. Have a good day everyone.
