found out crazy stuff today
TW: medical talk
>!I’m in the process of applying for SSDI due to stage 4 endo that causes me to need surgery every 7-8 months (I’ve had 5 so far) and for a few other health issues that have rendered me completely unable to work at the age of 25 (POTS, vEDS, a few vascular issues that have already resulted in 1 stent). The disability determiner called me today to ask why I didn’t list femoral and popliteal artery aneurysms on my application, as I was diagnosed with them in 2020. I asked if he had the right file and yep sure enough it was from my god-awful doctor that was a terrible communicator.!<
>!I have had FIVE SURGERIES with general anesthesia since the diagnosis, but I was never told about the diagnosis so I couldn’t let my surgical care team know. I could have potentially had fatal complications during surgery, and I never would have known!! What the helly!!! I’m exhausted!< >!🥲!<
