I've been volunteering on the Julie Won campaign for congress. We've been having some fun hangouts post canvassing! I volunteered a lot for Zohran's campaign and it's a really great way to build community, meet neighbors especially because some don't realize there's a primary coming up and we need people in office that will advocate for us.
The meetup is at irving square park on Saturday May 2nd at 12pm, we'll be door knocking and postering the neighborhood - followed by some surprises!
A little background on the candidate, she's been a city council member for the last 4 years. She's secured 2 billion in funding to invest in her current district as well as 32k units of housing (18k of those use units is affordable housing). 12 candidates are currently running for the race but thankfully the 3 main candidates all believe in abolishing ice, calling for a ceasefire and not funding wars. What sets her apart is that Julie has a proven track record of delivering on her promises & has done the work.
